The Luna Approach

Mental health is complex. Meaningful care begins with understanding the whole person.

Looking Beyond Symptoms

Anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, difficulty focusing. These things don’t show up out of nowhere.

They develop within a context. Your sleep patterns, stress load, medical history, and daily habits can all play a role in how you’re feeling.

Most psychiatric care works from a checklist. Here, we go deeper than that.

A Modern Perspective on Mental Health

Mental health and physical health aren’t separate. Your brain is in constant communication with your hormones, immune system, metabolism, and nervous system. Research increasingly shows that factors like chronic stress, sleep disruption, inflammation, and metabolic health can meaningfully influence mood, cognition, and emotional regulation.

Understanding those connections leads to better, more informed care.

A Biological Perspective

In addition to thoughtful medication management, I take a closer look at the biological factors that often get overlooked. That means reviewing your medical history, current medications, sleep, lifestyle, and overall physical health. When appropriate, I may also consider relevant lab work to better understand what might be driving your symptoms.

In many traditional psychiatric settings, visits are brief and focused primarily on medications. That model makes it hard to see the full picture. This approach is intentionally different.

Thoughtful, Individualized Care

Care is intentionally thoughtful and individualized. There’s space to listen carefully, explore what’s really going on, and build a plan that’s collaborative and tailored to you.
